Kashmir University Distance Education Admission 2025-26
Kashmir University Distance Education offers many courses to students. These courses are offered through Open and Distance Learning Mode. The Kashmir University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Certificate courses in various disciplines. Currently, the university offers only B.Ed at the UG level and only in Kashmiri in the Certificate course. It is the only course available with a certificate. In the PG program, Kashmir University offers MA, MSc, MAIS, M.Ed., and MCom programs. This university also offers several courses in fields like Management, Disciplines, and Arts.
Admissions in Kashmir University are Merit-based and depend on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Admission is conducted in the months of July or August every year. There is no Age Bar for admission in any course. The minimum requirement for admission in a UG course is a class 12th-class pass in any relevant stream with an aggregate of 45% score, from a recognized board. For admission in a PG course, a student needs to have a bachelor’s degree with 45% marks from a recognized university. The Application fee for admission to Kashmir University is between INR 500 to INR 1000.

Kashmir University Distance Education offers a Bachelor of Education in its undergraduate program. It is a 2-year course that is offered in a distance mode. This university has a total intake capacity of 33,600 for the Bachelor of Education course. Candidates who want to take admission in this course need to meet the eligibility criteria. The minimum requirement for this course is a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years in any discipline. The student must have passed this course from a recognized University with an aggregate of 45% marks. The reservation Categories may get some relaxation to 40% marks. The selection criteria for admission to B.Ed. are based on the merit of the qualifying examination.
Kashmir University Distance Education Admission PG
Kashmir University offers many PG courses. The postgraduate courses are 2 years. This university offers courses like Master of Arts and Master of Science in Mathematics, MAUR, Master of Arts in English, Master of Commerce, Master of Economics, Master’s in Islamic Studies, and Master of Arts in Education. The intake capacity for all these postgraduate courses is 200, except for MAUR. For MAUR, the intake capacity is 700. Admission is based on the eligibility criteria and merit in the qualifying examination (Graduation). courses eligibility criteria for PG is are mentioned below:-
- Master of Arts (MA) – A bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline is accepted. This degree should be done from a recognized university with a minimum of 40% marks.
- Master of Science (MSc) – A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or any equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- MAUR (Master’s in Islamic Studies) – A bachelor’s degree with 40% marks is needed. 50% seats are reserved for candidates with Islamic Studies as one of the subjects, the remaining 50% is for a bachelor’s degree from another stream.
- Master of Commerce (M.Com) – BS/BCom/BBA degree or BSc/BA degree with PG diploma in Cost Accountancy/Accountancy/Cost & Management Accountancy with at least 40% marks in the qualifying exam.
- Master of Education (MEd) – BA under 10+2+3 pattern. Education is one of the subjects with a minimum of 40% marks or B.Ed. with 50% marks. 70% of seats are reserved for candidates with the Education subject, and the rest 30% for B.Ed candidates.
Kashmir University Distance Education Admission Diploma
Kashmir University offers various Diploma courses to students as well. Kashmir University offers 10 Diploma courses. These courses are of 1 year duration. These courses are offered in a distance mode. Admissions in Diploma courses are based on a Merit basis and depend on whether a candidate meets the eligibility criteria or not. The minimum eligibility criteria are a graduation in any discipline with at least 40% marks. Except for DUJ, all Diploma courses’ intake capacity is 100. For DUJ, it is 30, and for DCJP, it is 50.

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Directorate of Distance Education, Kashmir University.
Step 2: Find the Application Form and click on the tab. Read the instructions carefully before proceeding with the application form. Additionally, download the prospectus and go through it once.
Step 3: Register yourself as a New User by using your Email ID and Mobile Number. Log in by using your registration credentials.
Step 4: Fill out the Application form. It would require your personal, academic, and course preference-related questions; fill them carefully.
Step 5: In the course section, you will be required to choose the course of your choice and also the specialization, if any. Select the course and specialization wisely, as there might now be an option for it to change later.
Step 6: In the next step, upload all the scanned copies of your original documents. You will be required to upload all the documents under the correct size (KB/MB) and format.
Step 7: Pay the Application Fee. You can pay it through a debit or credit card. You can even pay for it through the UPI app.
Step 8: Submit the application form. A copy of your response will be sent to your Email. Make sure to download it. Also, download and print the payment receipt. Keep it for future reference.
