GNDU Distance Education Admission 2025: Admission to GNDU distance education is open for the academic year 2025. Interested Students are advised to fill out the application form uploaded on the university admission portal. Registration fee of INR 500 for the general category and INR 250 for the SC/ST category is applicable at the time of admission. It is non-refundable. Students can apply to their desired UG, PG, and diploma courses, and the last date was 31st August 2025. All the programs are available online and in open & distance learning mode.
The main medium of instruction is English, Punjabi, or Hindi, depending on the course. Admission will be based on merit for the ODL program, as there is no entrance examination.
About GNDU
Guru Nanak Dev University was founded in 1969. It is a government university located in Amritsar, Punjab, India. It has been accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.85 and conferred a status of university with the potential of excellence by UGC. It is also the only university with the status of a CATEGORY 1 university by UGC, which allows it to provide open and distance learning programs without seeking approval of the University Grants Commission. GNDU Directorate of Open and distance learning was started in 2018.

GNDU Distance Education UG Admission 2025
Admission to GNDU distance education has been closed for the session 2025. Students can start applying to any desired undergraduate degree course before the deadline. Students can avail programs such as B.LiB, bachelor of commerce(B.COM), bachelor of computer application(BCA), bachelor of business administration(BBA), and bachelor of arts(BA). All these UG programs run for the duration of 3 years and 6 semesters. To be eligible for undergraduate degree programs, students are required to pass their 10+2 examination with at least 40% mark in aggregate or equivalent examination.
The average program fee will range between INR 12,200- INR 27,800. The primary medium of instruction is English. There is no entrance examination nor there is any age limit. Programs will be offered in ODL and online mode.
GNDU Distance Education PG Admission 2025
GNDU distance education admission window was closed on 31st August 2025 for the current academic year 2025. Admissions are open for all postgraduate degress programs offered in online and ODL mode. Programs include master of business administration(MBA), master of Computer Application (MCA), master of commerce(M.COM), and master of arts(MA). To get admission to a PG program, applicants will be required to hold a bachelor degree in a related field from any recognized university. Must have scored a minimum mark of 50% for general category and 45% for reserved category.
The program fee can range between INR 12,200 to INR 38,300. All programs will be delivered in English medium. There is no upper age restriction. Selection of the students will be based on the result of the qualifying examination.
GNDU Distance Education Diploma Admission 2025
Admission to diploma courses in GNDU distance education was closed for the academic session 2025. Only those students who have completed their 12th examination or equivalent with a minimum of 45% mark can apply for admission. Directorate of open and distance learning at guru nanak dev university offers two diploma courses in online and open & distance learning mode. Applicants can opt for a diploma in computer application and diploma in communication skills. The duration of both diploma courses is 1 year. Admission will be based on eligibility of the qualifying examination. Admissions will be held online only. Students can read the following steps before applying for admission.
- Visit https://odl.gndu.ac.in/ and click on OPEN AND DISTANCE ADMISSION.
- You will be directed to the directorate of open and distance learning homepage.
- It is mandatory to create an ABC ID and DEB ID.
- visit https://collegeadmissions.gndu.ac.in. and create logic credentials. Which include entering email address, aadhaar number, ABC ID.
- Now, go to the admission section and click on NEW REGISTRATION.
- Fill up the application form with necessary information and educational qualification details.
- Upload signature and passport size photo in JPG format and not more than 20kb.
- Now click on OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING ADMISSION on the left.
- Enter login ID and password and select CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT button.
- At the students page, Select course, centre and click on PAY APPLICATION FEE option to pay.
- Payment of registration fee has to be made online via net banking, credit card or debit card.
- Payment status will change to PAYMENT DETAILS. Click on the PRINT APPLICATION FORM option.
