About Burdwan University
Center of distance and online education formerly known as the directorate of distance education was started in 1994. It offers postgraduate programs in 5 subjects (bengali, history, english,philosophy,political science and sanskrit) across 10 study centers, including bachelor of education program(B.ED) and master in business administration program(MBA). All these programs are offered in distance learning mode. MBA and B.ED programs are available in English medium. Except for the MA program which will be as per the specializations. Burdwan University Distance Education PG Admission
Admission to burdwan university distance education for postgraduate degree programs is open till 24th august 2025* without late fee. At PG level, students can avail MA in sanskrit, english, philosophy, history and bengali. To be eligible for admission to any of the programs, students will need to pass 2nd class honour(regular or special) in a relevant subject having pursued the course in 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university. The minimum duration of all these programs is 2 years with 4 semesters. It is conducted in a yearly pattern(term end examination). To achieve this program degree students need to score CGPA above 4 to below 5. MA program fee will range between INR 8000 to INR 8700.
MBA Admission In Burdwan University Distance Education
Burdwan University Distance Education has opened its online admission window for MBA program for the july session 2025. Master of business administration is a postgraduate degree program offered only in bardhaman centre. It is a 2 year program split into 4 semesters, available in ODL mode. Applicants who have graduated with a degree of 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this program. If students do not have above eligibility, they may be required to appear for entrance examinations conducted by the university. Once selected, applicants will need to appear for group discussion and a personal interview round with valid ID proof.
Also, students need to summit a Valid MAT /CMAT / CAT / XAT/Other recognised Management Aptitude Test Score (if applicable). The university offers a total of 120 seats for the MBA program. Selection of the students will be based on merit list. MBA program per semester fee ranges between INR 25,000 – INR 25,200. The medium of instruction and examination is English only.
Burdwan University Distance Education B.ED Admission
B.ED admission is open at Burdwan University Distance Education for the academic year 2025. This program is offered only in bardhaman centre. Individuals with following eligibility can apply for admission: trained in service teacher in elementary school, and those who have completed an NCTE recognised Teacher Education Programme through face-to-face mode. The total number of available seats for this program is 500. The student course fee is INR 40,000, which needs to be paid online. Selection of all B.ED applicants will be based on merit. Some important documents to be submitted include Certificate of MPhil/PhD, joining letter & experience letter and Mark sheet & Certificate of NCTE Recognised Programme.
