About Bharathidasan University

Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) was started in 1992. It is located in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. The university offers a total of 41 programs approved by UGC-DEB, which are available online and in ODL mode.  At present university offers 20 undergraduate courses and 21 postgraduate programs that are applicable in ODL mode. A total of 10 programs, 3 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate programs, are also available in online learning mode. All the theory and practical classes are held on Saturday and Sunday.  There is no particular age restriction for admission. All programs offered in ODL and online mode are conducted through PCP- personal contact program and LSC- learner support centers, approved by the university.

Students can start applying for postgraduate degree programs in Bharathidasan University CDOE for the academic year 2025. For PG programs, a registration fee of INR 400 is applicable. Applicants can opt for PG programs such as master of Arts, master of Commerce, M.LiB.I.SC, M.Sc., MB, A, and MCA. All these programs are available for 2 years and 4 semesters. Only those students are eligible for PG admission who have a bachelor’s degree in a related field from any recognized university. The university uses English and Tamil media for instruction. Admission to any program through ODL mode: Application form can be filled online or procured from the PCP centre and send printed copy along with the required documents by post or courier to the Director of CDOE. However, for the admission process, students will need to be physically present in the university with original documents. Students’ admission will be confirmed after verification of the documents is completed and payment of the application fee. Students are advised to have a printed copy of all the fee receipts paid to CDOE. Students need to note that those applying to more than one program need to pay an application fee for each program separately.
