The Centre for Distance Education at SNDT Women’s University was established in 1979. It added the distance education mode alongside the regular mode. This centre was established in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and its aim was to empower women and provide them with an option to pursue higher education.

SNDT Distance Education Online Admission 2025:
SNDT Women’s University’s admission for all courses happens in the online mode. SNDT University offers many courses in its UG and PG programs, such as Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Management Studies, Master of Arts, Master of Commerce, etc. These courses have various specializations such as English, Political Science, Hindi, History, Marathi, Economics, and Sociology etc. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission are a 12th-class result for UG courses and a bachelor’s degree for PG courses. Candidates should have secured at least 45-50% marks in both. The candidate must have completed their 12th level and a bachelor’s degree from a recognized board and university. Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) may get some relaxation in marks.
For most courses, admission is Merit-based; however, for some courses, the UET (University Entrance Test) is required. The average duration of a UG and PG course is 3 and 2 years. This duration can be extended up to 4 or 3 years. There is no age limit for most courses. The annual fee for UG courses can range from INR 6,000 to INR 25,000. While for PG courses, the average fee structure ranges from INR 8,000 to INR 64,000.
